Instrumentation (ELAB 1004)
Apprentices study common terminology used in instrumentation systems and as well as systems of measurement related to pressure and temperature. Through an exploration of gauge and absolute pressure, apprentices are able to explain the operation, construction and application of commonplace pressure sensors. Using knowledge of instrumentation symbols, apprentices learn to draw basic process (P) and instrumentation (I) diagrams for various pressure and temperature devices. Apprentices follow the Ontario College of Trades curriculum for the trade of Electrician: Construction and Maintenance.
