Gallery Studies 1 (FINA 3002)

Examining the central role of the gallery and museum in the field, students learn the practical and conceptual aspects of their functions. Introduction to the roles and responsibilities of gallery staff, the importance of collections and curation, and the practical aspects of designing and developing exhibitions, allow both practical and critical skills to be combined in exercises. Both private commercial galleries and public institutions are used as resources to deepen understanding of the public reception of visual art.
