Sustainable Materials and Finishes for Kitchen and Bath Design (KBDE 1004)

Students study sustainable issues including the efficient use of energy and water in the design of kitchens and baths. Materials, finishes, and proprietary items such as plumbing and cabinetry hardware, equipment, appliances, shower inserts, baths, sinks, and basins are assessed in relation to sustainable issues and hygienic, durability, and aesthetic considerations. Experiential learning is integrated through industry specific research, field trips, and guest speakers.
