SIM Direct Entry Examination (MARI 0236)

Direct Entry candidates holding a valid Transport Canada Marine Safety and Security letter of equivalency may challenge the SIM 1 or SIM 2 (SIM O or SIM M) examination as appropriate as part of the approval process for a Canadian Certificate of Competency. Prior to registering, all applicants must contact the Centre for Marine Training and Research and submit their Transport Canada authorization letter by emailing cmtr@georgiancollege.ca.Candidates will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves on the college’s TRANSAS navigation simulators before attempting the examination.Candidates who are unsuccessful in challenging the SIM examination must complete the applicable SEN training in full.
