Fundamental Concepts of Criminal Law (POLC 1004)

In this introductory course, students are provided with a fundamental understanding of the aspects of Criminal Law in Canada from a police perspective. Beginning with a theoretical basis of the Criminal Code of Canada, this course ensures students understand the role of the Supreme Court of Canada, law reform, and the unique sections of the Criminal Code including case law, common law statutes and statutory interpretations. Students develop the practical skills required to analyze contemporary legal issues within Criminal Law.
