Principles of Ethical Reasoning and Policing (POLC 3013)
The purpose of this course is to ensure students can incorporate ethical reasoning in their policing practice. In this course, students cover a number of comprehensive ethical theories, and provides students with a practical framework for their own ethical reasoning. The course is designed to achieve this end dynamically by putting students through a number of ethical scenarios faced by police, with the aim of clarifying the key values, principles and obligations that should inform ethical decision making in those situations.
