Professional Foundations (PSWR 1035)

Students are introduced to the role and professional expectations of the Personal Support Worker (PSW). Students learn about professionalism, person centered care, the Canadian Health Care system, the role of the PSW, documentation, and communication (verbal and non-verbal). Students explore the interprofessional team, ethics, abuse, diversity, stress management, advocacy, and conflict resolution. Accountability and reflective practice are introduced.
