Therapeutic Recreation (RECR 2015)

Students are introduced to the foundations of therapeutic recreation with a focus on the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of services. Topics include definitions and benefits, facilitation techniques, principles, and practices. Emphasis is placed on assessment and charting, interdisciplinary therapeutic planning, activity limitations and adaptation, facility accessibility and equipment modifications, integration, referral processes, advocacy, public education and awareness. The history and development of the profession and career opportunities are explored.
